Sydney Festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary with not only the highest quality art and big ideas but also with the tastiest culinary delights from around the globe. Sydney Festival will put on four separate food hubs across the city in January at the Festival Village, The Domain, Parramatta and Barangaroo, so loosen your belts and prepare to eat.

Meriton Festival Village

The Meriton Festival Village food hub returns this January with an incredible selection of pre or post-show bites to satisfy all taste-buds and appetites. The boys from Porteño are back and will be serving up your favourite Argentinian smoked, grilled, fried and barbequed meats and vegetarian treats to see you through the day and night.

Sydney’s best gelataria Gelato Messina will also be re-joining the party under the Il Carnivale di Gelato Messina tent from 4pm daily. Drop in for a mouth-watering gelato donut of your dreams from The Donut Bar, or take a walk down memory lane and enjoy cult festival classics like the MESSINAWEINER! (aka The Pluto Pup) or a YEEEAHDAWGS! (aka a Twisted Hot Dog). Check out the menu.

There will also be Italian street food by Puntino Trattoria, freshly shucked oysters by Oysters Unplugged, authentic Vietnamese Pho from Bar Pho, burgers by Harvest Trader & Co, traditional handmade pastizzi by Bite Size Delights, and coffee by Bar Coco.

The Domain

The hardest decision you’ll have to make all January will be what Food Truck to eat at in The Domain. Wholesome and hearty gozlemes from Emmy’s Turkish Gozleme will be in hot demand, as will the house favourite peri peri chicken slaw by Sundweesh. You’ll be hard pressed to stay away from the hot, crispy Belgium waffles freshly baked by DE WAFEL or the authentic southern style barbecue smoking away on Byron Bay Smoke House’s Texas style fire pit. Sumo Salad will be doing what they do best – healthy, fresh and delicious meals with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.

Parramatta is in for a real treat throughout January with the Bearded Bakers from Knafeh set to put on a food experience like no other. Serving up hand-made sweet, succulent and piping hot puddings fresh from the oven in Prince Alfred Park, Knafeh will be a live performance in itself to enjoy. Be transported to the streets of Jerusalem as you observe the truly authentic preparation and baking of the dessert as they are made-to-order right then and there.

Follow your nose to Bar Coco who will be brewing coffee and fill up on a hearty Turkish Gozleme from Gourmet Gozleme.

Stay tuned for more updates!
